I have worked within the NHS since 2005, working at various levels from FY2 to Consultant. I am a dedicated Locum Consultant Psychiatrist, working as a consultant since 2017, and have served as an appraiser since 2013, conducting over 350 appraisals across that time.

I am an appraiser for my NHS Foundation Trust. Over the years I've worked alongside numerous designated bodies, appraisal service providers, and locum agencies — giving me a broad, practical understanding of how appraisal and revalidation processes work across different organisational settings.

I maintain deep, up-to-date knowledge of the General Medical Council's Good Medical Practice guidance and the appraisal and revalidation processes that sit alongside it. This is supported by regularly updated appraisal training, alongside formal Responsible Officer training.

My appraisal style is professional yet relaxed. I particularly enjoy supporting newly qualified doctors who may be unfamiliar with the process, helping to ease any anxiety around their appraisal meeting.
